At ANEMRSK, we have made a deliberate attempt to allow the students to live out the school life to the fullest. Academics is just one of the activities done at our school and not the sole one. Here students get a full fledged chance of bringing out their innate talents.
CELEBRATIONS :Each festival, small or big is celebrated in a grand way at ANEMRSK. During these celebrations, we make a concerted effort to acquaint the students with the different religions followed in our country, the different languages spoken, making them aware of the multi diversity of our great country.
Each of these celebrations are marked with different competitions such as Mehendi ,Face painting, Kite making, Collage making, Saree draping, Hair style, Best from waste, Rakhee making, Rangoli, Mask making, Greeting card making, Tattoo making, Singing, Elocution, Debate.
SPORTS :A lot of stress is given to physical fitness at ANEMRSK. Instead of 1, we have 4 sports teachers, who work really hard to train the students in various sports activities. Almost all students play basketball, football, volleyball, handball, kho-kho, kabbadi, and various athletic activities in a structured and systematic manner. We send our players to participate in almost all inter-school, inter-district, inter-state and national events. This exposure, we feel, is very important for any sportsperson. In addition to these outdoor games, indoor games such as chess, table tennis, carom etc are also regularly played by most of the students. Every evening 2 hours are devoted to these sports activities and every morning 45 minutes are devoted to yoga, stretching, jogging, pull-ups and aerobics. In addition to this, students are also taught karate. To support this, a special high protein diet is given to the students. The school also has its own band which will in future become a band to beat all bands.
MORNING ASSEMBLY :The morning assembly is the highlight of the day. Each class by turn performs some short skit, role play, dance or song in the assembly. All students have to perform in turns and most of these are in English. We feel this has been a very important tool in building the confidence of our otherwise shy and introverted students. Within 6 months from joining the school, there is a marked visible transformation in the otherwise timid and withdrawn students. Each Saturday, any one teacher by turn speaks in the morning assembly on any subject he feels like. A newspaper quiz is also held each Saturday in the assembly wherein the correct answers are rewarded with a token prize. The whole week you would find students poring over all the 5 newspapers that are subscribed by ANEMRSK.
ARTS :Art is a serious business at ANEMRSK. Students in a short period of time have become experts in varli painting, bandhni, batik, fabric painting, tile painting, sketching, greeting card making, mehendi, mask making, pot decoration and they can produce wonderful pieces of art which can in future find a ready market in urban areas.
Pottery, bamboo art, crochet, needle work, knitting, etc. are also taught to students and we have noticed students really catch up on these things fast without much of an effort. This is also a way of keeping them busy on Saturdays and Sundays while helping in developing their creativity and aesthetic sense.
MUSIC :Music lessons are also given to the students, both vocal and instrumental. The music room is open to the students at all hours to practice and hone their talent on their own.
RAM DUKAN :On Gurupurnima day, 2010, the Ram Dukan was inaugurated. This is totally managed and run by the students and it is open for 2 hours every Saturday and Sunday. Right from purchasing to keeping stock and selling and then finally keeping finances everything is done by the group in charge of the Ram Dukan.
WORKSHOPS AND VISITORS :A variety of workshops are conducted at ANEMRSK. Various guests from different fields and backgrounds are invited to our school to give informal talks to the students and generally interact with them. This is a subtle way of exposing the students to the various careers they would be choosing in future and also learn through observation how these dignitaries conduct themselves, in turn building their confidence when they are given a chance to freely chat with them and ask questions. Where bringing the children around to freely ask questions is concerned, this has taken a lot of effort from our most respected Chairman Shri Kamal Mangalji. On each of his visit to our school, he stresses the importance to the students that they must learn how to ask questions. They should be able to voice their opinion and take their own decisions. He believes where school education in India is concerned, students are trained to merely answer questions and never have the nerve to question anyone or anything that goes around them generally building an attitude of laid back acceptance of the general disorder, incompetence and corruption that prevails in our society.
